Just A Kid From L.A.

I want to begin by expressing my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you for being here and taking the time to read my father's GoFundMe story. My name is Albert Jr., and I made the decision to postpone college and learn the welding trade so that I could be closer to my father. I may be young, but I have big dreams of doing my best to help him and succeed.

Together with my father, we started a small Tow Truck Shop business as self-employed individuals. Though we are new in town, we place our trust in God and His will, which gives us hope for the future.

Our journey has not been easy. We started from scratch without any clients, and the COVID-19 pandemic hit us hard. The months of lockdown took a toll on our savings, and my father himself contracted the virus three times. With the towing companies closed, we had no clients for a long time. Slowly, we worked hard to find new customers, but the path was challenging.

In 2021, my father faced another obstacle when he contracted a severe infection in his feet due to his diabetes, resulting in the amputation of one toe on his right foot and scraping of the sole on his left foot. His recovery was slow, but he bravely returned to work, risking further complications to avoid losing his entire foot.

My father is an incredible ​human being and has always ​put his family first, even at ​the expense of his own health. ​He means the world to me, ​and I deeply admire his ​strength and dedication.

The challenges did not end there. In 2022, my father's eyes started bleeding, and he began a medical treatment to save his sight. In 2023, we tried to find alternative job options for him to avoid harsh conditions, extreme heat, and dust. Unfortunately, it was too late, and he was hospitalized, undergoing multiple operations, including toes amputation and skin grafts.

2023 The Miracle

My dad have been under treatment with painful procedures, in less than 10 days his surgeon performed 4 surgeries to save his leg, we are blessed all the staff is dedicated and compassionated taking care of the health of my dad. This week, a new surgical procedure to save his leg took more than five hours to complete, due to the bacteria damages, the surgeon removed part of his foot.Throughout this difficult journey, my father has shown incredible bravery in fighting for his life, and the medical team caring for him has been wonderfully humane, professional, and compassionate.

Now, as a self-employed welder, I am still gaining experience, and we face various challenges in our business. Our savings have been depleted due to expenses, and sales have been low in recent months. Yet, my father's health is the top priority, and we need to find him a clean and safe place to live during his long recovery.

After his most recent surgery, the doctors have advised him to stay in bed for almost two months to allow his wounds to heal. Once he's discharged, he will undergo further treatments and physical therapy to learn how to walk again. Additionally, he needs ongoing treatment to save his sight and address other issues related to his diabetes. All of this requires extensive convalescence, during which he won't be able to work or drive. My father currently lives in a small trailer, and he urgently needs a clean and dust-free living space to avoid extreme weather conditions. I want to be there for him, but as an apprentice welder, I cannot solve the financial challenges quickly enough to meet the urgent needs of his health emergency, housing, and therapy.

Our relatives are far away, and my mother is separated from my father. I have chosen to stay by his side, supporting and accompanying him through this difficult time. I've been doing my best, working tirelessly, but I realize that it's not enough right now. This is why I am reaching out, appealing to God's mercy and your compassionate hearts to contribute to our cause and relieve my father's distress.

Bienvenidos. Quiero comenzar expresando mi más ​sincero agradecimiento a todos y cada uno de ustedes por ​estar aquí y tomarse el tiempo para leer la historia de ​GoFundMe de mi padre. Mi nombre es Albert Jr., y tomé ​la decisión de posponer la universidad y aprender el oficio ​de soldador para poder estar más cerca de mi padre. ​Puede que sea joven, pero tengo grandes sueños de ​hacer todo lo posible para ayudarlo y tener xito.

2023 - Un Milagro

Los desafíos no terminaron ahí. En 2022, los ojos de mi padre comenzaron a sangrar y comenzó un tratamiento médico para salvar la vista. En 2023, tratamos de encontrarle opciones laborales alternativas para evitar las duras condiciones, el calor extremo y el polvo. Desafortunadamente, ya era demasiado tarde y fue hospitalizado y sometido a múltiples operaciones, incluida la amputación de todos los dedos del pie, la mas reciente cirugía duro 5 horas 30 minutos.

A lo largo de este difícil viaje, mi padre ha demostrado una valentía increíble al luchar por su vida, y el equipo médico que lo atendió ha sido maravillosamente humano, profesional y compasivo.

Como soldador autónomo, todavía estoy adquiriendo experiencia y enfrentamos varios desafíos en nuestro negocio. Nuestros ahorros se han agotado debido a los gastos y las ventas han sido bajas en los últimos meses. Sin embargo, la salud de mi padre es la máxima prioridad y necesitamos encontrarle un lugar limpio y seguro para vivir durante su larga recuperación.

Después de su cirugía más reciente, los médicos le han aconsejado que permanezca en cama durante casi dos meses para permitir que sus heridas cicatricen. Una vez que sea dado de alta, se someterá a más tratamientos y fisioterapia para aprender a caminar de nuevo. Además, necesita un tratamiento continuo para salvar la vista y abordar otros problemas relacionados con su diabetes. Todo esto requiere una larga convalecencia, durante la cual no podrá trabajar ni conducir.

Mi padre actualmente vive en un pequeño remolque y necesita urgentemente un espacio vital limpio y sin polvo para evitar condiciones climáticas extremas. Quiero estar ahí para él, pero como aprendiz de soldador, no puedo resolver los desafíos financieros lo suficientemente rápido para satisfacer las necesidades urgentes de su emergencia de salud, vivienda y terapia.

Nuestros parientes están lejos y mi madre está separada de mi padre. He elegido quedarme a su lado, apoyándolo y acompañándolo en este momento difícil. He estado haciendo mi mejor esfuerzo, trabajando incansablemente, pero me doy cuenta de que no es suficiente en este momento.
